چکیده

Background Cine imaging is the core technique for cardiac MRI studies. Often times, it is also essential to have information identifying fat signal in the heart to characterize masses, detect fatty infiltration and ARVD, discern fat from fibrosis in LGE imaging, and improve visualization of the pericardium. However, such information traditionally requires additional scans that obtain fat-suppressed images for comparison. This prolongs the examination time, is susceptible to mis-registration between the fatsuppressed and fat-visible images, and does not directly utilize positive contrast from fat. In this work, we present an integrated cardiac MRI technique that produces coregistered cines of both water and fat signal from a rapid single-breath-hold scan.

Single breathhold three-dimensional cardiac cine MRI with whole ventricular coverage and retrospective cardiac gating using kat ARC

Background For quantitative volumetric assessments of cardiac function, 3D cine images depicting motion of the entire ventricle in a complete cardiac cycle are needed. However, due to limited acceleration capability, breathheld 3D cine MRI is not obtainable using conventional parallel imaging. Several kt-acceleration methods have demonstrated high-acceleration capability for dynamic MRI by expl...

Improving cardiac cine MRI on 3T using 2D k-t accelerated auto-calibrating parallel imaging

Background Recently, 3D cine has gained attention due to its capability for single breath-hold volumetric measurement [1]. Nonetheless, conventional 2D cine maintains two intrinsic advantages, namely, its superior blood-myocardium contrast owing to blood in-flow effects and reduced SSFP banding artifacts with more localized slice-by-slice shimming. These advantages are more prominent at high fi...

Fat/water separation using a concentric rings trajectory.

The concentric rings two-dimensional (2D) k-space trajectory enables flexible trade-offs between image contrast, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), spatial resolution, and scan time. However, to realize these benefits for in vivo imaging applications, a robust method is desired to deal with fat signal in the acquired data. Multipoint Dixon techniques have been shown to achieve uniform fat suppression...

PURPOSE To design, evaluate, and apply a 2D 16-channel transmit/receive (TX/RX) coil array tailored for cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at 7.0 T. MATERIALS AND METHODS The cardiac coil array consists of two sections each using eight elements arranged in a 2 × 4 array. Radiofrequency (RF) safety was validated by specific absorption rate (SAR) simulations. Cardiac imaging was performed...

MMSE optimal non-local motion compensation for compressed sensing cardiac cine imaging using k-t FOCUSS

Introduction: Compressed sensing (CS) tells us that the perfect reconstruction is possible if the nonzero support in transform domain is sparse and sampling basis are incoherent [1]. By exploiting that dynamic MRI can be sparsified due to the temporal redundancy, we have demonstrated successful application of CS for cardiac imaging [2]. In particular, more accurate prediction using motion estim...
